Black Rock Crafted BIB Lager

Black Rock Crafted Lager is gold in appearance with a lacey head, the aroma of light malts is pleasant, and the body has good malt weight. A refreshing lager with good maltiness and moderate bitterness on the finish, quaffable and refreshing.

Change the brew volume to alter your ABV and IBU (approx. values below):

  • 18L – ABV 6.8%. IBU 33
  • 20L – ABV 6.1%, IBU 30
  • 23L – ABV 5.3%, IBU 26
  • 25L – ABV 4.9%, IBU 24

We highly recommend using dry hopping practices during fermentation on this kit to get crafty hop aroma and flavour. It is recommended to dry hop after 5-7days, depending on fermentation.

Suggested hop additions:

  • American Lager: Use Cluster and/or Liberty for a clean, mild bitterness with subtle floral and  citrus notes.
  • Vienna Lager: Use Perle and/or Saaz for a balance bitterness with a hint of spice and floral character.
  • Helles Lager: Use Hersbrucker and/or Hallertau for a mild balanced bitterness with a touch of floral and herbal notes.
  • New Zealand Lager: Use Motueka and/or Wakatu for a refreshing citrus and floral aroma.
